Incentivizing Measures
To promote interdisciplinary innovation and strengthen the integration of academia and industry, the Office of Research and Development at NCUT has established a series of incentivizing measures. These initiatives aim to encourage faculty members and students to engage in diversified academic research, foster industry–academia collaboration, and support the development and upgrading of local industries.
Through these measures, NCUT strives to integrate educational resources with industrial technologies, enhance practical training opportunities, and cultivate students’ creativity, innovation, and hands-on capabilities. By collaborating with enterprises, the university builds a technology research and development platform that supports the creation of new products and emerging technologies while strengthening the competitiveness of students, the university, and industry partners.
1. Establishment of Interdisciplinary R&D Teams
NCUT encourages faculty members with different areas of expertise to collaborate with industry partners in forming interdisciplinary research and development teams. These teams focus on emerging technologies and provide services including:
- Technology research and development
- Technical consultation and professional guidance
- Industry mentoring and collaborative innovation
- Technology transfer and application
Through the signing of Memorandums of Understanding (MOUs) with enterprises, these interdisciplinary teams help strengthen industrial value chain integration and accelerate the transformation of research outcomes into practical applications.
2. Strengthening Industry–Academia Collaboration
NCUT actively promotes cooperation between the university and enterprises to integrate academic research with real-world industrial needs. By combining academic knowledge with practical applications, the university supports:
- Applied technology development
- Joint research projects with industry
- Internship opportunities and practical training
- Curriculum design aligned with industrial technologies
These initiatives ensure that education at NCUT remains closely connected with technological development and industry trends.
3. Cross-University Learning through the National University System of Taiwan
NCUT is a member of the National University System of Taiwan (NUST). Through this platform, students are able to participate in cross-institutional learning and academic exchange programs, enabling them to benefit from the diverse academic strengths of partner universities.
This collaboration expands learning opportunities, promotes interdisciplinary knowledge exchange, and cultivates talents with broader academic perspectives and interdisciplinary competencies.
4. Institutional Support and Policy Framework
To support interdisciplinary research and collaboration, NCUT has established relevant regulations and administrative guidelines through the Office of Research and Development. These policies provide structural support for faculty members in conducting interdisciplinary projects and advancing innovative research initiatives.
